Men's Committee Meeting Minutes

December 16, 2011

In attendance: Brett Breslin, Kevin McKee, Barry Tucker,  Jay Sullivan, Bill McPhee, Bill Panzino, John McCarty, Doug Clay, and Bob Giusti. Steve May made a valiant effort to attend by teleconference from a business trip in the Carolinas but there was a glitch in the Committee's uplink protocol in their teleconferencing software.

The meeting was called to order at 5:30 p.m. by Chairman, Kevin McKee.

Treasurers Report

Treasurer Bill Panzino submitted his Treasurer's report for December, 2010. The report was up to date and there were no outstanding items to discuss. It was VOTED unanimously that the Committee accept the report.

Secretary's Report

Secretary Bill McPhee had previously submitted, via e-mail, the minutes for the November, 2010 meeting. It was VOTED unanimously that the Committee accept the minutes.

 Greens

Doug Clay reported that he spoke to Ed and the ongoing effort to remove trees throughout the course continues. The course is frozen and the members who are crazy enough to be out in this weather are requested to please use care in their use of the course so that we can limit any winter damage when the sane members begin to play again in the spring. It was VOTED unanimously that the Committee accept the report.

 Handicaps

Jack McCarty reported that scores will not be accepted or entered for rounds completed after November 15, 2010. Please do not enter scores after that. Remember, away scores are to be entered by Jack or Steve May. Winter scores from Florida , Arizona , etc are not to be entered from CCH or the internet. Keep the cards and Jack will review them and enter them when appropriate. Scores will be accepted for the 2011 season beginning April 1, 2011 It was VOTED 7 to 1 that the Committee accept the report and the recommendation. Brett Breslin lobbied for a later start in April because he has a nasty habit of shooting in the low 70s when the markers are at the front of the box and has a handicap he can't play to when we go back to the "big boys" tees.

 Tournaments

There were no tournaments to discuss but the anal retentive chairman was a little upset that Jay doesn't have the majority of the work already done for the 2011 Fall Member Guest.

 Pro Shop

Bob reported that the Pro Shop is doing fine. There are many Christmas sale items and keep an eye out for Bob's forecasts for changing hours, etc. Bob wanted to thank the members for their continued support.

 House Committee

Since there was no House Committee meeting there is nothing to report.

 Executive Committee

Kevin McKee reported that he met with the Executive Committee. The Executive Committee suggested a mid-week 1 day member guest next year for those members who can't make the Friday tournaments. The Men's Committee scheduled a Wednesday 1 day MG and it will be on your calendar.

 New Business

In an effort to increase tournament participation the Committee did some minor shuffling in the schedule. The Winters Tournament will be played in July and the Henrich Cup will be played in August. Please consult your calendars. Any suggestions, comments or complaints are welcome. We want to know what you think. Please forward them to wmcphee@comcast.net

The meeting was adjourned at 7:00 P.M. The next meeting is scheduled for April 5, 2011.

Respectfully submitted,

Bill McPhee
